Hello all. So I just finished publishing a book for a fellow ttrpg designer and I felt inspired by it. Please give it a look, and enjoy my homage to it. Hopes and Feasts: A Recipe For Success by Connor D. Estes.
Kitchen Master (Fisherking Archetype)
While most fisherkings reign over great lands and diverse peoples, a rare few choose smaller kingdoms that are closer to hearth and home. Kitchen masters wield supernatural authority and culinary skill in equal measure to produce edible wonders and to ensure that their people always have full bellies and satiated appetites.
Realm of Hearty Feasts and Full Cups (Su)

Starting at 1st level, the kitchen master’s presence alone bolsters the bodies, hearts, and minds of others as they fill the world around them with the scents and memories of home cooked meals by warm hearths, grand feasts, and any number of tasty morsels made with love and care. As a swift action the kitchen master can activate a 30 ft. radius aura centered on themself. The kitchen master’s allies, other than themself, within this aura gain a +1 luck bonus to Fortitude, Reflex, or Will saving throws, selected by the kitchen master when shaping veils for the day. In addition, allies (including the kitchen master) within the area gain a +5 ft. enhancement bonus to their base land speed. Increases to land speed last until the end of a creature’s turn if it leaves the radius of this effect. Additionally, spoiled, rotten, diseased, poisonous, or otherwise contaminated food and water within the radius of their aura is cleansed and made fit to eat as if by purify food and drink. The kitchen master can choose to exclude any number of contaminated food or drink items that they can see, from this effect.
This ability may be invested with essence, increasing the radius by 5 feet for each point of essence invested. For every two points of essence invested in this ability any bonuses or penalties to d20 rolls caused by this ability are increased by 1.
Additionally, the normal range of the kitchen master’s royal attendants ability is based on the radius of this ability
Starting at 2nd level, any ally that has consumed an akashic recipe prepared by the kitchen master in the last 24 hours treats this aura as having a radius that is 30 ft larger than normal for the purposes of gaining its benefits.
At 13th level, the bonus to saving throws increases by an additional +1, and the bonus to land speed increases by +5 feet.
At 17th level the kitchen master’s aura increases to a 60-foot radius.
This ability replaces blessed land and the fisherking’s blessed land improvements, and alters royal attendants.
Akashic Cooking
A kitchen master is never without the means to ensure that a superlative table is laid. At 2nd level the chef adds the Chef’s Armory veil to their veil list. Shaping this veil does not count against their normal limits on veils shaped, or their veil slots. As this veil does not count against their veil slots or chakras, they can still shape a different veil into the same slot as it freely.
For every 3 ranks they possess in Profession (chef), Craft (beverage or food), or a similar skill appropriate for the making of food and beverages (subject to GM discretion), the chef immediately learns (or creates) 1 akashic recipe. They can gain a maximum of 6 akashic recipes in this way.
This ability replaces the hex gained at 2nd level.
A Pinch Here, A Dash There
At 4th level, the kitchen master proves their skill at adjusting recipes to augment their taste and potency, and to tailor them to fit individual pallets. They gain the following unique hex:
Master’s Spoon (Su) The kitchen master as a standard action can taste an akashic recipe (this does not count as ingestion and does not consume a serving). They instantly become aware of any supplements that were used in its preparation and their rank, or the lack thereof. As a part of this action they can add a supplement from a container on their person to a completed recipe that was not prepared with any supplements imparting the supplements normal benefits. Alternatively, if they taste a recipe that already contains one or more supplements they can instantly extract any number of supplements the recipe contains. This removes the effects of the chosen supplements from the recipe and causes the selected supplements to be stored in suitable containers on the kitchen master’s person. If no such containers exist an extracted supplement is destroyed. This hex only functions when used on a full “batch” of an akashic recipe (i.e. all of the original servings are present).
Unlike most hexes, when this hex is shaped as a peerless hex it can only be shaped to the Hands or Wrists slots. When shaped as a peerless hex, this hex takes on the form of a large highly polished spoon made of pale wood. Treat this spoon as a weapon produced by an enhanced descriptor veil with the “Enhanced (light hammer)” descriptor. The spoon can be enchanted or otherwise upgraded as per the enhanced descriptor veil rules.
When the kitchen master binds this hex to their Hands chakra they gain the ability to have vast quantities of supplemental ingredients just at their fingertips. Instead of the normal benefits granted by binding a hex to their Hands chakra via peerless hex, the spoon gains an internal extradimensional space. Only seasonings (salt, spices, ect subject to GM discretion), akashic recipe supplements, crystalized akasha, and ingested poisons can be stored in this extradimensional space. The extradimensional space within the spoon holds an amount of lbs of weight equal to 10 times the kitchen master’s veilweaving modifier + their veilweaving level. Placing items into and drawing items from this extradimensional space can be performed as a swift or move action. If the kitchen master is killed any items stored within this hex pour out into their space. They can’t access this storage space if this hex is suppressed. Storage in this space has no special effect on the shelf life on anything stored in it other than what would normally be granted by a clean air-tight container stored in a cool, dark, dry place.
When bound to their Wrists chakra, in addition to the benefits of the Hands bind, the kitchen master gains the benefits of one of the following feats that they meet the prerequisites for: Akashic Preservatives, Extra Hex (Witch Hex[Elevated Ingredients]) Flavor Blending, Upcycled Ingredients.
This replaces the hex gained at 4th level.
Kitchen Aids
At 5th level, the kitchen master never has to worry about having suitable kitchen staff on hand. As a standard action the kitchen master can convert their royal attendants into kitchen aids. This causes them to be dressed in aprons and simple garments instead of their livery. While in this state, they gain ectoplasmic creation as a psi-like ability at-will, but they can only create non-edible objects that would commonly be found in a kitchen (such as anything a chef would need to cook with), or a dining room (such as a table, seats, napkins or utensils). The royal attendants do not need to make craft checks when using this psi-like ability this way. They can also use create water, purify food and drink, and spark as spell-like abilities at-will. Additionally, as long as they are taking an active part in the preparation or serving of food, or the cleaning or preparation of a cooking or dining space, a royal attendant transformed by this ability can continue to function at any distance from the kitchen master (subject to gm discretion). This change also applies to any royal attendants summoned after this ability is activated. However, they lose the benefits of any other abilities that would normally enhance their abilities (e.g. lamplighters) while this ability is active. This ability can be ended as a standard action, causing any summoned royal attendants to revert to their normal forms, abilities, and limits. This causes any royal attendants outside of the radius of the kitchen master’s realm of hearty feasts and full cups ability to be dismissed.
At 9th level, the kitchen master’s royal attendants become a boon to their preparation of akashic recipes. While their servants are in the form of kitchen aids they can be commanded to aid in the process of preparing akashic recipes. As long as they are present for the entire process and are not commanded to perform other tasks, they grant the kitchen master a competence bonus equal to the kitchen master’s veilweaving modifier + 1 for each point of essence invested in their royal attendants ability on Craft and Profession checks to prepare akashic recipes.
